Internet of things for the management of the Internet: in Italy “Atlantica Digital” digitalizes 15.000 equipments of “2i Rete”

Support the digitisation of networks, to enable the acquisition of large volumes of data and to control field devices effectively through various communication channels. This is the objective of the Telecontrol platform developed by Atlantica Digital, recently adopted also by 2i Rete Gas, the second Italian operator in gas distribution with over 4,9 million users served in more than 2,200 municipalities.

At present, the platform manages a total of about 15 thousand devices installed along the entire network of 2Rete Gas. It is important to ensure flexibility and scalability. “The IoT solution developed by Atlantica Digital is able to guarantee the flexibility and scalability necessary for the management of a highly complex gas distribution network, supporting the energy transition and at the same time the implementation of new management models”, says Livio Valagussa, responsible for the digitization structure of the 2i Gas network.

Accelerate digital transformation
“The success of this project – adds Carmine d’Acierno, general manager of Atlantica Digital – confirms our strategy aimed at accelerating digital transformation and eco-sustainability, as well as the wisdom of the choice to invest in this constantly growing technological sector”.
